About the Programme

Bachelor of Commerce degree is designed to provide students with a wide range of managerial skills, while building competence in a particular area of business. It imparts candidates with knowledge in accounting principles, export and import laws, economic policies and other aspects which impact trade and business.

Ideally a student of B.Com. on graduating is expected to have acquired basic knowledge in a variety of fields related to an organization and business management. B.Com. degree holder is fit to work in any corporate organization or be self-employed. B.Com. Model II Computer Applications

The course aims to produce qualified and trained personnel for fields such as banking, insurance, accounting, stock markets, e-commerce, and marketing, besides teaching jobs in universities and colleges. B.Com. in Computer Applications is a 3- year undergraduate course designed to impart advanced learning to students in the discipline of Commerce, particularly involving the application of software technology for professional requirements, merging the academic specialties of Commerce and Computer Applications The course follows an innovative modern curriculum.

Admission Procedure

Eligibility

Admission to B.Com Degree Programme will be open only to candidates who have passed the plus-two of the Higher Secondary Board of Kerala or Pre-Degree of Mahatma Gandhi University or that of any other University or Board of Studies in any state recognized as equivalent to the Plus Two of the Higher Secondary Board of Kerala, with not less than 45% marks in aggregate, is eligible for admission.

Admission Process

Out of a total of 60 seats, admission for 50% of seats will be done through MG University UG Centralized Allotment Process (UGCAP) and the other 50% will be through Management Allotment. Admission to Management Quota is selective and is based on the merit and interview ranking. Application forms can be acquired from the college office.

Programme

Highly professional in nature, the course intends to provide a foundation for students who plan to pursue their career in business, commerce, accounting etc. Our students undergo internship programme after their fourth semester which makes them more adaptable with the industrial world. Industrial visits are also there for all the classes. We also encourage students to organize events such as National Seminars, Inter-college and inter department meets, participate in events organized by other colleges and also get involved in activities of social relevance. They are enabled to think creatively and to develop right mindset to meet the challenges of the globalised business environment, through value based education, interpersonal relations and outreach programmes.
