In B.Sc. Apparel and Fashion Design students are exposed to an innovative and practical understanding of contemporary designs to pursue wide ranging career in the global fashion industry. This course is a distinct collaboration of the Science and Art of Apparel studies as well as elements of design. Students will be studying the art of Fashion and Apparel Design for a period of 3 years divided into six semesters. The course focuses on theoretical as well as applied areas of fashion design, technology, and management.

Industrial Visit

We conduct Industrial Visit to various apparel industries and hand loom sectors.

Seminar & Workshop

Various seminars and workshops are conducted based on the design thinking, bridging creativity practice, managing on the product development process, introduction to indigenous craft.

Study Tour

A study tour is conducted every year for the last semester fashion design students. Students along with the teachers-in-charge will visit some interesting places.

Classrooms and Lab


We offer well equipped garment construction lab with cutting tables, mannequins , dress forms & power operated high-speed lockstitch sewing machine, overlock machines. Other labs which the college provides the art lab, pattern making and grading lab, the draping lab, the dyeing and printing lab, computer-aided garment designing . Also, classrooms are equipped with projectors to facilitate the students with aid in audio-video presentation.

Library

The college library plays an important role in the general educational development of students and staff of the organization. Our library can be considered as the academic center of Mount Carmel College, Karukadom. There are special sections for reading, lending and reference. Internet browsing is also available. Students and teachers visit the Library regularly and make use of the digital and print resources provided.
