Aim
The Certificate Course on Accessory Designing is a 40 hours programme which equips the students with the basic knowledge in jewellery and accessory designing
Objective
To teach the students the art of accessory designing so that they can complement their garment designs with appropriate accessories.
Duration of the Course
The Course extends to 40 hours of contact classes practically.
Eligibility
The course is applicable to all students of Mount Carmel College, Karukadom on demand basis.
Number of Seats
The number of students in a batch is restricted to 15.
Fee
The course fee is Rs.500, which can be paid in two instalments.
Exams and Evaluation
At the end of the course, there will be a practical examination which includes record keeping.
Certification
On successful completion of the course, the students will be issued a certificate on Accessory Designing by the college.

Syllabus
Module I
An introduction to Fashion Accessories.
Module II
Type of Fashion Accessories: – Jewellery (necklace, earrings, rings, hair ornaments), hats and bags
Module III
Designing fashion accessories on the basis of a selective theme: Traditional style, ethnic style, contemporary style, fusion of any above styles.
Module IV
Material exploration- Develop any accessory from the above mentioned
Module V
Material exploration- Develop a set of Jewellery with any material and a set of eco-friendly material.
Related Experience
• Students have to maintain a record for all the samples.
• Students are required to submit a final garment embellished using any of the surface ornamentation technique.
