About the Programme

The Post Graduate Department of Psychology was established in the year 2019. The Masters of Science in Psychology is a two-year rigorous programme that offers a curriculum equipped to instil students with the prowess and acumen of Psychology. The program is to provide a comprehensive and in depth theoretical and practical understanding of psychology. This programme has been designed to ensure that every student is able to nurture their academic interest in psychology, along with their personal growth and awareness. The aim of the Department is to train the students in terms of personal and professional competency. The two-year M.Sc. course, divided into four semesters, is taught by competent faculty, instils in the students professional competence and urges to emerge as mental health professionals. The students are also taught to administer various Psychophysical, Personality, Intelligence and Neuropsychological assessments. Faculties are trained to use modern technology in classroom teaching and students are provided various practical exposures like visiting special schools, Hospitals, Rehabilitation centres, Industries and NGOs to learn skills and techniques in the fields of psychological assessments, counselling and psychotherapy and to apply psychology in organizational settings.

Eligibility for Admission

A candidate who has passed B.A/B.Sc. Psychology, approved by M G University with a minimum of 50 % is eligible to pursue an M.Sc. Psychology Programme on a regular basis.
